I started another newsletter in 2023. It’s called The African Algorithm.
AI was gaining traction back then, and I had admired The Rundown AI, a daily newsletter that brings you all the latest news in AI in a 5 minute read, for a while.
I wanted to be the next Rowan Cheung. So I copied his template and started writing the daily news updates. But I quickly realized that not all the headlines I read in AI were true.
The truth is I hard no idea what I was doing, and all it took was one mistake and I could burn all that I was working for to the ground.
So, I decided to take a step back, learn, and then I could try again.
Now, I’m back and I have more to offer. I’m not done learning, but I feel confident enough in what I’ve done so far to start again.
It took me two days to get this newsletter up and running. This would not have been possible if I had not made the mistakes I had made before.
This is my first post ever!
It feel good to get something done and I hope to look back on this one day with love and pride.
